SAINT-JEAN-BAPTISTE DAY WEDNESDAY JUNE 24, 2026

Often we celebrate special days but we don't really focus on the reason that that day got picked in the first place. The feast of Jean-Baptiste was observed in France as far back as the Middle Ages. French colonists, (remember learning about Jacques Cartier in school), brought the tradition to Canada. Around 1744, Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day was declared a public holiday by the second Bishop of Quebec, Jean-Baptiste de La Croix de Chevrieres de Saint-Vallier and in
1925, Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day became a statutory holiday in Quebec. We are neighbors...We are friends...so...Happy St Jean Baptiste Quebec. Do come and visit if you're in the neighborhood. Have a coffee at our Polar Bear Cafe.

Rob McIntosh prides itself on being an unique shopping experience that is super fun for everyone. Our Polar Bear Cafe is home to what we refer to as our Fun Food section. This area is to explore, relax, enjoy. You might have noticed that I use the word fun a great deal. Fun is our motto! In an out-of-town coffee shop the other day, I saw a sign that said "No Internet. Talk to each other." In our Polar Bear Cafe, we do have Internet for you to use but we
did laugh out loud when we saw that sign. We like you to chat with the other guests. Tell stories. We have 23,000 sq ft of different stuff that you'd be greatly interested in discovering when you feel like exploring. We are delighted to have visitors and lots of us speak both Canadian languages fluently. Do drop in, do bring guests to wander through the hallways laughing and talking. We like the buzz when there are lots of people here. Have a coffee and a cinnamon roll (or buy six and
freeze them for breakfast treats at home). Please share our newsletters with others and do look at our expanded website which is so much easier to search. Have a great party Quebec! It is a special beginning to the summer. Barb PS Since summer is a time of lazy, hazy days, check out the Tilley hats to keep you cool and protected. We have Crocs arriving daily. Have a great vacation. Enjoy Canada.
