Cast iron is a heavy, durable alloy of iron and carbon knownfor its incredible heat retention. Prized by cooks for generations, it can transition seamlessly from the stovetop to the oven or campfire. Properly maintained cast iron develops a naturally slick, non-stick cooking surface over time.  We all have our favourites but definitely cast iron is up there with the best.

Cast iron cookware can cook almost anything.  Sear pork chops, grill steaks, sauté veggies, fry eggs and bacon, bake a gooey skillet cookie, and so much more.  We have several different brands of cast iron.  The two best known are Lodge and Victoria.

At Rob McIntosh Unique Gifts, we are totally aware of how much Canadians love to entertain outdoors. The soft summer air, the slight breeze, the laughter, the birds chirping all add to the enjoyment of a home cooked or BBQ meal.
