STANDING TALL GLOBALLY RELAXING LOCALLY A CANADIAN JANUARY
|
|
|
|
January is the month when you start again. The month when there are 12 months ahead of you that you can do new and exciting things that you have or have not done before. I'm basically an air-head. I never know what I'm going to say or do but I use January to regroup, to reorganize all the airhead things I did in the preceeding 12 months. Each of us has a personality but January is the time to start. This has so been seen at the recent Canadian speech in Davos.
So...let's go. Fun is being aware of what makes us happy. Cookies, pies, ice cream and other comfort foods trigger nostalgic thoughts and give our brains a much needed mental rest. This helps to explain the huge trend toward chocolate goodies. The winter imparts immense stress on individuals and families but gives time to appreciate the simple pleasures in life. So...chocolate is a kind of emotional permissible indulgence which is healthy for you (maybe within reason).

VALENTINE'S DAY DRINK RASPBERRY CHOCOLATE MINI
|

Chocolate contains many secrets to happiness. Not only does it taste delicious, but it has quite the positive effect on your brain. It releases certain neurotransmitters that make you feel comfortable and happy, and can even reduce pain and stress. Hot chocolate contains energy-boosting caffeine, mood-lightening serotonin, and relaxing tryptophan. A 2013 study published in the journal Neurology found a correlation between drinking hot chocolate and boosted memory,
suggesting that drinking two cups a day could help stave off Alzheimer's.

In 1824, John Cadbury opened a grocer's shop in Bull Street, Birmingham. Amongst groceries, he sold cocoa and drinking chocolate - which he prepared himself using a mortar and pestle. The turning point came when John's two sons invested in a brand new way to process cocoa…By using an innovative Dutch cocoa press, they were able to make their cocoa 100% pure. 200 years is a long time but one thing that never changed is the smooth, pure chocolate
taste.

Known as a winter comfort drink, hot chocolate consists of cocoa powder, hot milk or water, and usually a sweetener like whipped cream or marshmallows. But hot chocolate minis make it easy... the message is adorable, the price is right and don't forget that Valentine's Day is coming soon. Love is for always.

We, Rob and Barb McIntosh, are expecting great things for Canada in 2026. This picture was taken in a Toronto hotel which was decorated so beautifully for the season just past. It was a priviledge to stay in this lovely Canadian hotel. We believe in Canada and are super proud of the speech made yesterday by our Prime Minister wrt the world we live in. "If you're not at the table, you're part of the menu" was the theme and having been in the dinnerware
business for a long time, we really appreciated the reference to a great sustainable product. Notice that Rob is wearing an Ethnic Blue sweater and I'm wearing an Aran sweater, Tilley turtleneck and pants and Manitobah boots. These products can all be found in our 26,000 sq ft Rob McIntosh Unique Shops which are located in Ontario about 10 minutes from the Quebec border off the 401. You must come to visit us and share our enthusiasm for the future. Relax and get some hot chocolate to keep
you cozy and having fun during our cold winter days yet to come. If you'd like to share this newsletter, then by all means this would make us happy. Have a great year. Barb
