NEW PIMPERNEL PLACEMATS ROCKSTAR!
Pimpernel placemats were established in 1933 by Ruby and Will George, who founded the Celluware Supply Company in the North East of England, later known as Pimpernel Ltd. They pioneered the industry by being the first company to apply decorative pictures to the surface of hardboard, cork-backed placemats. So many placemats later, Pimpernel, at Rob McIntosh, is still what we consider an "evergreen" (a product that sells and sells and sells because of its
functionality and its value and its simplicity).

Pimpernel placemats are a "big deal" with consumers primarily because they combine, high-end, durable functionality with artistic, timeless designs. They are a great gift, they wash amazingly well (you can't soak them, just wash with a damp cloth), they have patterns that suit every situation, and "yes" to the complaint that we received last week, the price has gone up over the years but it seems to us that it actually has stayed pretty neutral
considering that the quality has been maintained.

COLOUR TEXTURE PERSONALITY
Looking to make mealtime feel like a true celebration or simply add a little pizzazz to your everyday routine? Placemats play an integral part in making your table setting feel extra special. To repeat, they bring colour, texture, and personality to any traditional setup. Plus, if you do it right, they can become an instant part of your home decor. Consider your dinnerware style (casual, frilly. simple, formal, etc) before going all in on a single set of placemats.
Give yourself the gift of variety and have a few different table placemats in rotation to spice up your dinners. I have lots (probably too many)... and I know the patterns well...but while writing this newsletter, I've decided that I have to have "Beautiful Ride". I like the message and would like to read it at breakfast every day.

Because we' still have snow, it seems impossible to believe that Easter (one of our most celebrated holidays of the year-I think because as kids, the older generation remembers the song "In your Easter Bonnet") is coming up in a couple of weeks. Pimpernels have always been a favourite and there are more and more patterns all the time including a lot from some of the modern worlds best designers. That's why I chose this topic to chat about today. We at
Rob Mcintosh are delighted to have a huge selection on display and online for you to see and enjoy. We're always looking for unique products but this year with all the political turmoil, we're setting up sections and entire buildings with iconic Canadian brands. Tilley has taken one of our heritage buildings to turn into a Tilley Store within a Store. Imagine how excited we still are. Meantime, we're bringing in more and more stock for this summer and would love you to come and
visit, have a Polar Bear Cafe drink, buy some Donini chocolate (handmade in Belleville) and wander the hallways and different buildings to see what there is. We'd be glad to give you a tour or leave you be to discover on your own. Welcome and if you'd like to share this newsletter or give us a review, we'd be thrilled. Happy Easter. In Canada, we're free and proud. Talk soon. Barb
