Living in a hockey family surrounded by big-time fans, I must say that a great deal of our conversation these days revolves around our favourite Montreal Canadiens who won the first game of the Eastern Conference Finals, 6-2, against a team that had yet to lose in this year's Stanley Cup playoffs. They lost the second game but only after an overtime goal. So when I announced that I was off to write my newsletter,
the sentiment was that I was going to discuss the NHL scarves, blankets and flags. I wasn't but in order to keep everyone happy, I gave in and am mentioning them because I too am seriously proud of our Habs. Amazing grit. "Go Habs Go" says it all. We just sold the last Montreal Candiens flag including the one outside on our entrance but there are more rushing on the way. Leave your name at the counter and we'll call you as soon as they arrive. Also coming with the Montreal flags are World Cup flags if you are interested in those. And...to connect this part of the newsletter with the rest, my version of a hockey bag usually has a lot more fashion attached to it. So...here it
is.

LUG FASHION MEETS FASHION
|
Lug purses and bags were named after the verb "to lug"—meaning to carry something heavy or cumbersome (sort of like a hockey bag). Founders Ami and Jason Richter chose the name as a playful nod to travel and everyday commuting, aiming to create colorful, highly organized bags that make carrying life's heavy loads much easier.

Lug zippers are the best in the business as far as I'm concerned. Not only are there lots of zippered pockets (lots of different bags have lots of zippered pockets now) but the zippered pockets seem to be the correct size and in the correct location to put the correct things in. Running through the airport last week with my passport, my holder for my passport, my boarding pass, and my lip moisterizer which I seem to need continuously, all needed close at hand and
watched so they wouldn't get lost, Lug had the right size pockets in the obviously place to remember which was which. They were all zippered as well so falling out was not an issue. When you're pulling your suitcase, holding your heavier coat and then taking everything off for security, the Lug qualities are beyond happiness.

While Lug is about color and patterns, they also do black perfectly. Small, medium and large depending on what your needs are most. So to show the designs, I've chosen black but the links are all there to search your favorite colors as well.

I know, I know, this description is way too long but I've just come back from a trip with my sister, through many stops and have just experienced some of the moments needed to have an easy to use carry-all. Where are those nail clippers? Where did I put my boarding pass? Where is that note that I wrote the person's email on? Etc.Etc. Lug has this covered. I think their designs are terrific.

Lug Does This: To brighten every day, Lug puts sayings like "Choose Joy" or "You Got This!" on their interior tags or sews them into the bag's lining. To me, every bit of fun that's available should be jumped on. Life is good.

Brightening up your day is what inspires us. It's why all of us at Rob McIntosh Unique Shops come to work happy to meet you. We think retailing is fun-we love meeing new people, all ages, all incomes, from all walks of life, all the time. What a hoot! In hot weather or in cold weather, in rain, sleet, hail or snow, we're delighted you visited us. Wander the 23,000 sq ft shops full of different products at all different price points from $1.00 to over $1,000
depending on what it is (we do like to tempt you with expensive beauty while at the same time there are many bargains and it's always changing). With regard to our balance of Canadian product, we always leaned toward Canada, the British Isles, Europe and Australia (try the licorice from down under) and we did this long before the new tariff situation. Manitobah has been a major part of our brand selection for years but lately the enthusiam for this product from all over North American is
amazing. Known well as a fall winter product, Manitobah has morphed into fashion, fashion, fashion. Totally Canada. Shopping is always fun. You can just look for your next purchase and have a coffee in our Polar Bear Cafe, on a bone china pattern called Wedgwood Florentine Turquoise which in itself is a very old famous china pattern. We love the old, we love the new (Have you seen our new Tilley Clothing? or the new Crocs?). Our Jellycat display changes so often because
Jellies are trending hot these days. We are trying to get more modern by printing up instructions for our Points System to give to you with a URL code to get to the page. (First someone had to show me how to use a URL code. Pretty easy when you get the hang of it). We would be very happy if you shared this newsletter or gave us a review (This is a NOW thing. Everyone always checks their phone to see the comments so if you had fun, these reviews are a help). We are
really expanding our purse selection even though today we focused on Lug. Forgot to mention that before. Talk to you soon. Barb McIntosh
