Wow! Today is Labour Day, 2026. Where did this year go. I must on behalf of all of us at Rob McIntosh, tell you how much fun it is to chat away once or twice a week. Once October comes, it will definitely be twice a week because we launch into holiday season and planning for 2027. To review this year so far, many things have happened business-wise that were while not unexpected, did tend to be annoying. First of course, the President of the United States seems to have a
desire to be obnoxious to Canadian business (actually Canada in general). A challenging situation but great for sales. We sold lots of mugs saying "Canada is Not For Sale" and we still have some if you missed out on this heirloom mug. For those who like Mark Carney, we have t-shirts that comment we should not allow ourselves to be part of the US's menu. More tariffs with their horrible price increases which we were really pleased to be able to keep to a minimum by buying from
Canadian, British and European manufacturers. And because Canadians can rise to a massive challenge, we are totally noticing that buying Canadian is back in style. In our search to expand our Canadian products, we teamed up with Tilley ( since 1980) and Manitobah (since 1996). These iconic classy Canadian brands opened their own stores within the Rob McIntosh complex in South Lancaster and boy have they both done well. The future with these companies looks golden. There is a long tunnel
connecting their two shops filled with all kinds of authentic Indigenous products including Dream Catchers, a great gift. I know I sound like I'm bragging and I am a bit but all our success depends on the ladies and gentlemen (and families) that come to our shops. It depends on whether or not they had a good time.
